What is this Ruby on Whales?

 

This is a personal blog where I will document my own development in learning this fancy stuff called Ruby on Rails. However it is personal, I would like to make it rather a dialog then a diary so I encourage fellow newbie Rails enthusiasts to join the discussion.

Ruby is a programming language created by Yukihiro “matz” Matsumoto. He blended parts of his favorite languages (Perl, Smalltalk, Eiffel, Ada, and Lisp) to create a dynamic, reflective, general-purpose object-oriented programming language. What is Rails?

Rails or Ruby on Rails is a framework that makes developing, maintaining and deploying web applications much easier. Rails started as an unknown toy of David Heinemeier Hansson and became a favourite choice of web developers very quickly. It makes producing web applications faster, easier and much more fun. What is this Ruby on Whales blog is about?

The goal of this blog is to show the path how can we become a good ruby on rails developer. As I’m also just a beginner this blog will not be a swiss pocket knife of Rails rather a documented process of learning and development of a Rails programmer. I hope there will be a lot of discussion and I will make sure that every post is thoroughly tested and checked therefore everyone can learn from it and of course add their cosntructive notes in the comment section. If you would like to learn Rails and would like to enjoy the benefits of joining an online group where people help each other in this process than get on-board!
